The 3 things you NEED to know about fuel contamination!

AdBlue Contamination

In Nottinghamshire we have seen a lot more cases of AdBlue contamination wherein someone has poured AdBlue right into their diesel fuel tank. This is in part as a result of people not knowing the way to to make use of (take note: it is not a fuel additive), and partly simply because the filler necks for diesel and AdBlue are normally directly adjacent to each other on the automobile.

So, exactly what is the matter with having AdBlue in the diesel vehicle?

Because the product is primarily deionised water, it is like putting water in to your tank. Diesel and water do not blend in the least and trying to run a diesel car on water is not going to work. In addition to this, the urea is extremely corrosive to fuel system pipes and seals and is more prone to crystalising, blocking injectors and fuel filters. If perhaps you put AdBlue into the fuel tank empty it right away. And definitely take care not to crank the engine - not even to maneuver it away from the pump. In case you have started the vehicle you would almost certainly need to have the whole fuel system purged and fuel filters replaced.

If you find yourself in this scenario don’t panic! Contact us, the UK’s Premium fuel contamination company. Our experts possess the practical knowledge and experience to have you back on the road quickly and efficiently, without mess or fuss.

Wrong Fuel in Car London - Petrol in Diesel Car Rise Park

I'm not excessively excited about running on weekends, and last week was no different. I'd only just left home after eating a superb roast prepared for me by the better half, and I was off to deal with a guy who put the wrong petrol in his elegant Hyundai Excel. He was only in Rise Park hence I was with him almost immediately. Just as I pulled up at the car and got out he explained to me "Praise the Lord! I incredibly had my mind on other considerations and did not grasp that I had put the wrong fuel in my petrol vehicle. I need to know if I inflicted any damage by simply starting it?" I said there shouldn't be any kind of problems and that also I would personally drain the contaminated fuel immediately for him. Needless to say I drained the contaminated fuel from the vehicle and filled up with the suitable fuel, and so yet another contented customer was able to continue on his trip without the need for hassle. He couldn't stop thanking me, and this is what makes working on weekends in Nottinghamshire just that small bit less painful to me!

How to find out if I put the wrong fuel in my car?

If you’ve just filled up at a petrol station and the cars starts to act a bit strange you might start to wonder if you accidentally put the wrong fuel in it.

    • Loss of engine power – can feel like the car has run out of fuel
    • A lot of smoke (more than usual)
    • Engine coughing or starting to splutter
